We continue to experience a critical system-wide outage which is affecting all services, including D2L

Marcus, you have serious issues.

Ok, my question is what does "Once resolved, we will assess the impact of this outage on our customers and adjust if appropriate." mean? "...Adjust if appropriate?" adjust as in not have system wide outages anymore or give reasonable information to your customers next time or Help customers adjust their expectations where appropriate?

Maybe don't wait until last minute on a holiday to enter grades and you wouldn't have this problem?

Looking to enter last of semester grades for students through the system.
This is also impacting D2L.
Students will be concerned if grades are not entered in.
I will check back later tonight? or expect tomorrow to be able to submit final grades?

Hi,
I forgot to sign up for classes somehow, no idea why guess I was just stressed, and now I am kind of in a panic bc I realized about 10 minutes ago while lying in my bed. Please give me some kind of estimation, I really need to know!
Thanks

Telling people to take a "chill pill" is not the adult way to respond to the situation. People have deadlines. Outages occur yes; however, most companies keep their users updated. This company is failing to do so and that is coming from someone with a lot of experience in "Corporate America." Most companies have an effective IT team to solve the situation. Feel sorry for the IT person spending their Christmas trying to solve the issue, if their is one. More than likely no one is working on the issue at this time because of the holiday. When they come in tomorrow morning, it will miraculously be fixed and everyone will move forward without a hiccup. Except those who had a deadline.

This is unacceptable. I hope someone gets fired over this.

Great... i just wanted to check my grades 😂

I think "chill pill" is proper, you guys need to calm down, it's the one day out of the year where people get to spend time with their families (IT persons included) and most of you on here are being straight selfish. Chill out and enjoy a day of relaxation and freedom and the fact that this holiday even exists to begin with.
AND BTW Spring semester sign ups opened on the 16th of October so.....
(I give lessons in how not to procrastinate) as I sit here not worrying about grades or deadlines. *takes a bite of a gingerbread cookie*

I find it humorous that there’s instructors on here fretting over an impending deadline. Maybe use this as a lesson the next time you have a student in a panic about something. Sometimes there isn’t a thing they can do and it is out of their control. There’s an instructor on here I know for a fact can take this lesson to heart. Sucks to be screwed for something out of your control, isn’t it?

A quote from one of my online classes.
"As I’m sure you are aware, sometimes, if you get close to a deadline and you haven’t completed your
work,
unexpected circumstances may arise (e.g., illness, your computer dies or runs out of battery, your
Internet service goes down). These kinds of circumstances will not be considered a valid excuse
for turning in late work.
Therefore, please complete and submit all of your work well before the deadline."
For the professors that are complaining... I have zero sympathy for your situation.

Freaked students and frantic professors. Who are you? How are you? Remember, it’s life—if the thunder don’t get you then the lightning will. You will get by, you will survive

What will happen next? Can we get an apology? I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Maybe a personal email from the Minnstate people saying that that was a mistake and they feel bad about it. I would really like that.

For the people complaining about unavailability to apply for classes. Registration has been open for a whole ass month and a half to apply. (Normandale's registration opens for all on November 1st. I have no clue about the other MN State Colleges & Universities) And some people here choose to apply on a day they can "finally devote time", where there were days off, breaks, and free time to apply before today, on a national holiday. Oh No!, bad timing comes and now there's an outage. Where IT and staff are having a day off to relax and enjoy their time with their loved ones. Not to mention the spring semester starts in a few weeks, which is simply called procrastination, and it is hard to admit that for some people in the comments. There is no excuse.
"I've been busy during that whole ass month and a half". Did you? You didn't have 30 minutes to an hour to get your registrations done once and for all? You just didn't want to do it, you left the snowball rolling until it the snowball turned big and something to finally give a crap about.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
*Sips tea and sparks up*

Have my prayers been answered? is Elliot hacking the system for the betterment of our futures by changing our GPAs to a 4.0

My concern is that I received an email that I am now able to register for a class that I have been waitlisted on for a week. The deadline for me to take advantage of this is 12/26 10:55 a.m... it’s hard having to keep constantly checking this in hopes of not missing the opportunity because the system is down.
